Skyzone SKY04X OLED goggles
Skyzone has announced new OLED goggles SKY04X. These have upgraded 1280×960 px resolution OLED displays with the huge 46° FOV. Skyzone SKY04X has adjustable IPD from 58-71mm and (finally!) adjustable focal distance 0~-6. This is the first Skyzone goggles with the adjustable focus.
Skyzone SKY04X has 2 Fatshark type video receiver module bays. The the right bay comes with the new Skyzone SKYFUSION receiver module. This receiver module works in the similar way as RapidFire – merges two signals to one, avoiding image tearing and rolling. The left bay is empty and might be used for third party receiver (like RapidFire, TBS Fusion) but in reality the module bay may is too small to populate the third party receiver modules (there are reports, that PRO58 does not fit into the bay)
Skyzone SKY04X is available in red, white, silver and black colors.
There is suspicion that the Skyzone SKYFUSION module is the SAME as Eachine RapidMix from EV300O.
Here are some early pictures of the Eachine RapidMix. Try to find some clues…

so they just released the EV300O they were making for Eachine themselves…
you’d at least have customer support
Yes and No. Yes, the Skyzone SKY04X uses the same mold as Eachine EV300O, the same receiver module as RapidMix, but the screens are better! The SKY04X resolution is 1280×960 versus EV300O that have 1024×768 resolution. Everything else looks to be the same.
I bet the Skyzone customer support is better than Eachine.
sounds great, but it doesn’t make much sense to buy them, without dji vrx modules available
Sky04x also has a much better FoV
a lot of wrong things written here:
Fusion Module will never ever fit into the module bays. Confirmed by Skyzone.
For Rapidfire there is and will be no fitable Lid, so you cannot use 3rd party receivers for the moment properly. the slot is way to small.
The Module Bays are more decoration then usable. From my point of view it was a good idea but the goggle is not finished. It’s a beta from skyzone, not more
Thank you for your information. I have adjusted the article to reflect this issue.
I have a rapid fire in mine with the cover provided by Skyzone. Fits perfectly, but goggles do not fit into the case provided with it installed. I don’t like the case anyway, no place to put good antennas.
Fit and finish are excellent for me except the strap wss too short. I had to switch one side to a battery strap connection to the goggles. this is a silly oversite.
Yes the corners of the screen get cut off at max diopter setting, but at least I can read the OSD now. Does anyone really look in the corners?
This was an excellent upgrade from EV200 for me. I love the screen and light weight of the goggles.
I have very good peripheral vision so I can actually look out the super small vents on the bottom if I want to. I don’t notice the little light while flying, but it is there. Would be easy to shield if bothersome to you.
The User Interface is outstanding. So easy to operate.
Sorry James, I’m having a completly different experience than you
Thanks for your feedback.
After a great year with the SKY03O, I just received my black 04X. The goggles are super bulky/chunky, awkwardly big at module areas, and the fit is not good. The wide face plate on the 03O feels like a tailored fit, while on the 04X it is sloppy, and too wide at the edges, the narrow plate too small. Wide plate fit is okay at center of face, outward, until the area just outside both eyes, where it quits hugging, the contact pressure fades away, and the fit just loses contact out off the side of my face, making them feel insecure when worn. The receiver module I received is not usable, suffering from a massive color and frame glitch, then progressing to a downshifted, continuous right to left rolling frame. This happens after a minute or so of clear video, the glitch lasts about 30 seconds, then returns to clear video for a minute or so before repeating the cycle. Switch to 03O goggles and everything is great. I got a fusion module to try to make the 04X usable and there is not a chance it will fit (this was not mentioned anywhere until this article was edited yesterday.) The bay is too small, and the pins are at least 3-4mm out of alignment. The 04X power button is small, and just fiddly to operate. The plastic housing has has lots of rough edges, and a low quality overall finish compared to 03O, and there’s a small, random Philips screw sticking out slightly, installed at a crooked angle, upward into the “ceiling” of the 3rd party module bay. With the focus adjust, you lose the ability to put a flat/zero diopter over the lenses for protection. The flat diopter in the 03O is easy to wipe clean, where the 04X has nearly half spherical lenses that are difficult to completely clean, and seem to be much softer plastic than the diopters in the 03O. The IPD and the focus adjustments shift out of position during regular use/handling of the goggles, often requiring small readjustments each time I pull them down onto my face. These seriously suck in their current form. I can’t even comment on the bigger field of view because i haven’t gotten to use them properly. I can’t believe Skyzone had Eachine build the 04X for them. Seriously though, the wide, sloppy fit, and cheap finish of the 04X feels very much like my Eachine EV200D which were meh (and cost $300 and lasted 35 days before a screen failed.) Amazing how the big youtube reviewers are already having such great experience with the new “gold standard,” in goggles. Maybe I got a particularly bad pair. Anyway, no wonder RDQ aren’t allowing reviews for these. Im getting a refund, a chargeback if I have to. Calling these beta is generous. Beta versions usually function enough to be tested. $500????? Im ashamed.
Thanks for sharing your experience. Was interesting to read.
Thank you for approving it. It’s the sort of first hand account I really appreciate encountering before making such an investment, but this time I get to be the person writing it, instead.
I just received my new 04x version 3 goggles, and I am totally blown away by these. Compared to my FatShark Attitude V5, it’s like night and day. WOW, WOW, WOW, is what I’ve been saying since I put these on. I was really worried about spending $530.00 on these, I’m far sighted, I need reading glasses and I had absolutely no issues focusing these in. The resolution is just outstanding compared to FS goggles, and the user interface is very easy to understand and get used to. I’m happy to say that I made an excellent purchase with these SkyZones. If your on the fence, just pull the trigger, you won’t be disappointed.
Thanks for your feedback. Yes, the Skyzone SKY04X goggles are one of the best analog FPV goggles in the market. My subjective top 3 analog goggles: Orqa FPV.One, Skyzone SKY04X, FatShark HDO2.
